I’m not sure if this is the right sub but hopefully I can find some advice!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been overweight. Even when I was on various sport teams as a child, I still gained weight even if it was slow gaining. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and pcos in my early teen years which I found made losing weight a struggle and because of bullying, I found myself going to drastic measures to lose the weight. Obviously I never did for long. I’ve tried everything under the sun to lose weight but I usually lose it for a short time and then gain back even more than I lost. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and I’m incredibly unhappy with myself. If it helps with the advice, I’m female, 24 and at 310 pounds.
I want to lose weight and become healthier not just for my self-esteem but also to look after my health.
I’d like any advice possible. For food, at the moment, I can really only eat the food I receive from food banks and I also sometimes have maybe about $10 a week to spend on any other food products. What exactly could I make with that in order to provide sufficient enough nutrients with what I get but also make sure I’m eating to where I’m at a deficient? Any basic recipes would be great.
Also with exercise, I can not afford a gym at the moment so what exercises could I possibly do at home? I try googling it and it’s a bit overwhelming. I use to love the gym when I went and had no problem with a workout routine but when it comes to body weight exercises, I’m a bit lost.
Any help would be very much appreciated. I’m tired of laying in bed all day, lethargic, wishing to make a change but never doing so. I’m willing to do almost anything to actually not be overweight for once in my life. I’m determined. I want to actually make the change, not just dream about it.
Thank you for reading and for any help!
