Sunday is winding down now and it's almost time to start another week. At least this work week is a short one for those of us celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday! Yesterday ended up not turning out as bad as I'd originally feared. After the brewery lunch I mentioned, I still felt really full so we ended up actually postponing Brazilian steakhouse to tonight. Didn't really eat dinner last night because I was still so full that I didn't want to eat anything. And that was even after I saved half my sandwich to eat for lunch tomorrow or Tuesday. Logged everything as best I could and... actually not so terrible. And I made sure to eat nice and light today so I have a solid 8-900 calories to enjoy that steakhouse dinner tonight. And I'll actually be hungry too so I'll be able to properly appreciate the food. All in all a better plan, plus we got to go hang out some more with the visiting relatives. Meanwhile today was a pretty lazy day. I went for a walk outside and enjoyed the return of the sunshine, and then in the afternoon went for a 6 km run and ended up getting my fastest pace yet. Feels good to be making progress. Operation kick my mom's butt in the turkey trot next week is going to be a smashing success :D And then I'm going to turn my attention to training to get a sub-1 hr time in the BolderBoulder next spring.
Weight: 133.6. I know I didn't actually eat double what I usually eat in a day, so I know that's almost all water weight.
Calories: Estimated yesterday at 1800 which is right about maintenance for my goal weight.
Steps: Only ended up with 12752 yesterday but I'll cut myself some slack on that one because it was snowing all day.
Gratitude:
Since I had to quickly finish my post yesterday and didn't have time to think of this, I'll double up today. First of all, I am thankful to be part of a family that on both sides (meaning my family and my husband's family) values health and physical activity. I see a lot of people posting here that they never learned proper nutrition or a healthy relationship with food from their families and I consider myself fortunate that I have a mom that I can run a 5K with, and a whole set of in-laws who can mostly kick my butt in just about any sport you name (though actually I think I beat my MIL's time both years that I've run the BolderBoulder :D )
And second, I am thankful for the gift of a good education. For high school, college, and graduate school I have been blessed to be able to study a topic that I find endlessly fascinating: the human body, and to learn from a number of teachers who have been passionate about their subjects and been valuable mentors to me.
How are you all doing today? Excited for the week to come or dreading it?
