Here we are, it's Friday! We made it through another week. Considering what subreddit this is, hopefully for many of us there is less of us now at the end of the week than there was at the start :P As a student of biochemistry, and physiology in particular, I remember my husband sharing with me once something that was both unexpected and yet made total sense to me given what I know about how the human body works. Which is this: given the law of conservation of matter, the fat mass that leaves your body when you lose weight has to go somewhere, but where does it go? Turns out, most of it is breathed out in the form of carbon dioxide gas.
Today was a pretty good day. It was nice to have a little bit of time to relax, it's felt like the last two or three days I've been busy and hardly had any time to myself to just chill for a bit. Still, my husband seemed to really like the casserole I made for dinner last night and he enjoyed his gift. Weird how easily I can fill my days with errands and stuff even when I don't have a full-time job. I did meet with a career counselor at the school where I did my masters and found a couple more jobs to apply for so it wasn't all fun and games. It's a rest day from any serious exercise but I do still want to do some walking before hubby gets home so I can get some more steps in.
Weight: 133.3 this morning! I may dislike getting my period but I do enjoy the whoosh that goes along with it :D
Steps: Ended yesterday at 15221. Working out on the treadmill when I hadn't eaten very much all day was rough but I'm proud of myself that I managed to stick it out for the full hour.
Calories: Logged as 1703, though I'm not sure if I'm overestimating how many kcal are in a serving of the mexican casserole I made. Regardless, totally worth it and I'm looking forward to another portion tonight :D
Gratitude: Today I am grateful for the career counselor who took the time to meet with me and offer her perspective and advice as well as commiserating with me about how draining it is to go through an extended job search and face so many rejections. It really is useful sometimes to be reminded that there isn't anything wrong with me or my qualifications, that the job market in my field in this particular location is just super competitive.
Ok, your turn! How was your Friday? Any fun plans for the weekend?
