NSV My Mom Took My Advice & Has FINALLY Started Losing Weight Without A Diet

Went to visit with my fam a few weeks ago and my niece complained that she had gained 20lbs pretty quickly over the summer so I showed her the LoseIt! App and we talked about CICO and I reassured her that she didn't have to give up eating out all the time, but that she could track it all and make better choices and she would lose the weight.

Well my mom chimed in then with "I'm always 260 no matter how healthy I eat!" I got mad. I was downright angry. You see, my mom is only 5'1. She's approaching 60, and has a multitude of health problems, all of which are complicated by her weight. The biggest and most painful is a much needed hip replacement surgery that can't happen until she's lost enough weight to go under the knife. She can barely walk a few feet without being in tremendous pain. So basically, until she loses the weight, she's disabled.

So I finally just said it "You're either not being honest about eating junk or not being honest about how much you're eating. It's physically impossible for you to eat "healthy" and not lose weight. You could eat 1200 calories a day and not even move and still lose weight."

A few weeks go by, and I go over this week to visit and she says "I've actually lost weight. You were right. The doctor said you were right. I started eating less and only eating when I'm actually hungry. For the first time in years I weigh less than 260."

Here's hoping she sticks with it. I know that her health is never going to be 100% but if she loses that weight and has hip surgery she regains mobility that's all but lost. 💖
