When I was getting ready for work this morning, I discovered that my cat had gotten into my closet and peed on my favorite pair of work pants that had fallen on the floor. I was PISSED- not only because the smell of cat urine is basically impossible to get out of clothes, but because all my other work pants were in the dirty clothes hamper, and there was no time to wash them.
I did have an old pair hanging in my closet, a size 14, but the last time I tried to wear them they were way too tight and uncomfortable. I’ve lost over 10 pounds since I last tried, so I thought maybe they would fit better, and would do until I’m able to get my usual pants washed (the pee-soaked pants are probably goners). I put them on, and Lo-and-behold, they fit comfortably. In fact, they were loose enough for me to tuck my shirt into- something I hadn’t been able to do for months.
I haven’t been doing anything revolutionary to lose weight. I’ve been counting calories to eat around 1200-1300 a day, measuring my food, drinking around a gallon of water a day, and exercising 5 times a week (and I sprained my ankle this weekend so I’ll be sidelined for at least a week). I work a desk job so other than making time to work out, I’m pretty sedentary, although I am trying to increase my activity in little ways, like walking a mile from my train stop to my apartment instead of taking the bus. I hasn’t noticed too much progress, but it just goes to show that little changes and CICO do work!
