Eating my favorite foods everyday and losing weight

I had pasta three days in a row this week. I also had sushi, steak and Jersey Mike’s.

On Monday I made a delicious shrimp and vegetable dish. The recipe suggested serving it over pasta but I just mixed a small amount into it directly while cooking, much less than I would’ve scooped into a bowl to be the base of this dish. Such a small move but the calories of the pasta added up to just 200. Ended the day at 1,050 cals, a little low and I was starving by dinner due to only having a smoothie earlier in the day. Lesson learned.

I had leftovers for lunch on Tuesday. 3 oz of tri tip for dinner and some potatoes. Ended the day at 1,257 cals.

On Wednesday, I had a lean cuisine made of mushroom ravioli. It didn’t blow my mind, but it was a perfect midday meal at only 270 calories, giving me quite a bit of leeway for dinnertime (sushi, my very favorite). Ended the day at 1,212 cals.

On Thursday, I went to a pizza place with my boyfriend and his mom. They have a chicken skewer dish thats around 500 calories that I opted for. For dinner, I had jersey mikes. I got a mini turkey sub with no oil. They look so small from the other side of the counter but I went to eat it, it was plenty for me! Ended the day at 1,233.

When I stepped on the scale to weigh myself this week, I had gone from 188 to 184. I know this loss is probably just a whoosh of water weight, but I was thrilled to see the scale move. I’ve also been doing 16:8 IF, c25K, yoga and drinking a lot of water.

So many of these foods have been binge eating triggers. Its been a major NSV for me that I was able to stick to my guns this week and feel satisfied. I’m still doing one of my favorite things - eating my favorite foods. It gives me the confidence that I can really see this thing through. I don’t feel deprived, I feel like I’m making smart choices that can fit in with my lifestyle. I’d even say that I’m enjoying my favorite foods more knowing I can’t get a second helping.

TLDR: Ate all my favorite foods that are fattening in usual portions, but portion control and planning ahead allowed me to stay in my calories and lose weight.
