BMR and How to Use it to Account for Caloric Intake

Hey guys,

I've been using MyNetDiary to try and lose weight and I've lost around 20 pounds so far, but I've hit a plateau. I'm stuck around 235 and it says my BMR is 2065 and I've used other websites to account for it saying 2072 as a 5'10 22 year old male. (sedentary so added exercise is a bonus)

I've been using the goal of losing 2 pounds a week and it gives me a daily caloric limit of 2092 for intake, and a total of 3,092 calories if I wish to maintain my weight.

This just doesn't seem right. Shouldn't my daily caloric intake be below my BMR if I want to lose weight, or am I just unlucky and need to wait it out?

Granted I haven't been able to sleep well, have a committed schedule, or workout much due to college projects. I know this would have something to do with it, but I wouldn't think it would have this large of an effect.

Thanks for any help you guys may be able to give me.
