253lbs->193lbs and the happiest I've ever felt. Up to 223lbs and determined.

Hi all! I recently posted over in r/progresspics because I've been feeling really upset about my setback. The feedback I've been getting is amazing and so validating.

Here's my take on posting an older picture of me at my lowest weight rather than me now.

A little backstory,

I lost 60lbs when I moved to California. I was going to school and chasing my dreams! Living by myself for the first time and eating only when I was hungry and was losing weight like crazy(also for medical reasons)! This Picture on the Left was me at my utmost happiest, the smallest I had ever been and the most comfortable I'd felt with my body...ever! The right was me when I decided to move to CA.

God I was walking in the clouds, until things started to fall apart with my life. My car was money hole, my apartment rent skyrocketed due to new landlords, I wasn't being scheduled at my work and it felt like everything was telling me that my time here was up, and I was destined for somewhere else. So, to spare my mental health and my credit card limits, I decided to move back to the midwest. I was in a LDR with someone in my home state, and at that point decided that I wanted to be with them, even if that meant moving back and "abandoning" all my hard work that I had put into my life on the west coast. I was unemployed for two months while moving and getting settled and during this time I was adjusting to my new lifestyle back in my homestate with my partner. Booze, eating out more, winter(no outdoor activity), and depression about my life in Cali falling apart all contributed to my (bum bum bum....) 30lbs gain. Jeeeesus that's just hard to even type. I knew I was gaining weight, I could feel it and I was horrified but didn't know how to stop it.

You do know how to stop it. Look you dumb idiot....You did stop it. THESE PICTURES ARE PROOF. You done did it before, you can sure as hell do it again. Don't just settle for this! You're not happy, and you know it. Don't hate your body, get control of it. You were carefree and continuing to lose weight. You were healthy! You were active. Do NOT let yourself get into this rut with what could have been or ruminate in this bad feeling. Food does NOT control you. You got it girl. You've GOT this. Make your life your own and don't spend another goddamn second feeling helpless and unhappy. Your life. Your body. Your happiness.

Take it back.

TLDR; Setbacks happen, but don't let them take over your life. Dig in your heels. Work for your happiness.

I just wanted to share my thoughts in case someone else is going through the same thing.
