I've been reflecting on my change so far this year. I'd like to share some of these with you as it still shocks me.
At the start of the year I was so depressed, life sucked and I truly felt helpless.I just couldn't go on, and so I had to change. I hated my body, which was a reflection of my inner turmoil, but it was something I could work on.
Looking back over the past few months, I never thought I would actually be a healthy BMI, fit into size 10 UK tops and 14/16 bottoms or even be able to shop for clothes in normal people stores! I would sweat walking ten minutes, and now I can run an hour on the elliptical. I can touch my toes standing up but what surprises me everyday is the space around me.
I don't spill onto the seats next to me. People can squeeze past me without it being a circus contortionist act for them on trains or plane isles. People in my new job have only known me at a healthy BMI and so seem shocked that I still have 2more stones to lose for my ideal weight- one person thinks i naturally have this figure.
I have lost a few friends along the way as i started to take care of myself including my appearance and pride in my looks. Some women are just mean, which as an obese lady I didn't encounter.
I didn't think I could be happy. I am.
I have worked hard to get where I am through my therapist, you beautiful internet strangers, dieting and exercise.
