I’ve never been ashamed of my body and have always been pretty athletic. Ran half marathons and was in the army for 4 years. That all changed when I tore my calf last October. I spent a month in a walking boot not doing much other than upper body workouts and then two months of physical therapy. Before my injury I was 5’6” 135 lbs and now I am 160 lbs or I was until this morning and now I’m 161.5. I am back to my typical workouts: running 3x a week for 2-3 miles, boot camp 3x a week and a long hike on the weekends. I just can’t shake the weight and it keeps increasing.
My diet is always pretty good. I would solidly rate it a B+. Plenty of veggies, healthy fats and either fish, shrimp or chicken. For carbs it’s either rice, quinoa , whole grain pasta or sweet potato. I steadily log about 1400 calories a day- give or take 50. Yesterday we did an 8 mike hike -(4 miles climbing) and I ate 1780 calories. I also have gained 2.1 lbs from yesterday to today.
I haven’t been to my doctor to specifically discuss my weight gain, But they haven’t mentioned it in the appointments I have had. Another thing to mention is I never wake up hungry anymore. There’s always a feeling of fullness.
I basically feel that I’m trapped in someone else’s body and I don’t know how to move it or fuel it.
