Any day now...

I set this goal two years ago. I'm so close. I haven't slipped up on my diet in almost 2 weeks and the scale has been down every day for the past 5 days.

It's so damn close and I'm actually kind of scared. I may end up losing down to 170 or 160, since I'm not totally happy with the amount of fat still on my abdomen, but this is the beginning of another life change. I don't remember what it's like to not see progress like this. I'm so used to tracking the downward trend of my weight and the reinforcement and positive feeling I would get as it kept getting lower. It'll be the end of an era. Any day now.

When I hit the goal, maybe I'll be brave enough to post my progress pics.

Some thoughts and advice:

The screenshot above is from My Fitness Pal. I've tracked my meals through it, off and on, for this entire two years. It's an invaluable tool.

The biggest thing for me has been getting back on the horse after I fall off. There's been times where I've fallen off for days, weeks, months. But I got back on and progress always resumed. Give your body credit, it's not going to give up as easily as you might think.

Trust the math. If you have a bad night and go over your TDEE by 3500 calories, you might show you're up 3, 5, or even 7 pounds on the scale the next morning (I've been there more than once!). You have NOT undone 7lbs of progress. You just have a lot of food in your body right now. You've only put on 1lbs. It's a setback, but you can lose that pound before the same time next week. Just get back on the horse.
