A reminder that it’s important to eat enough food

Hi friends! If you’re anything like me, you’re subscribed to other subreddits that help you lose weight (like r/1200isplenty).

Someone else posted here a bit ago reminding us that 1200 calories is not really plenty for a lot of people. I know that when I’m in a plateau, I want to cut down to the absolute minimum healthy number of calories I can have. It’s never really made sense to me about why that’s not a great idea.

Well in one of my (psychology) classes this week, we learned that while the brain only takes up about 2% of our body mass, it consumes 20% of our calories! If you’re not eating enough, you’re starving your brain.

Please be nice to your brain.
