Normally, I don't let people's comments mess with me, but this one got to me a bit.
So for reference, I've lost about 50 lbs thus far from 252, and I have about 50 to go (with my height, my target healthy weight is something like 140-150 lbs). Somehow we were talking today and the conversation switched to my weight loss (which I don't mind discussing - it's always a good thing to discuss). One of the people I was talking to mentioned that I was at a good weight now. I politely disagreed, saying that I was aiming to lose about 50 more pounds.
Her response: "50? You're gonna look like a crackhead!"
Normally, something like that wouldn't stir my brain, but it did. Sure, I know I'm gonna look different in a while when I lose the rest of my weight, but a crackhead? Will I really look like that?
Have any of you ever received comments like this? How did you react to them, and did you use it as motivation to prove the person wrong?
