Tl:dr: I've fallen off the wagon and need a hand getting back on again.
Last April I became dedicated to the idea of losing weight again. I signed up to the gym and tackled food by cutting out all refined/simple sugars. I got carried away and began obsessing over what I could/could not eat. I exercised so much that every day hurt somewhere and I came close to doing real damage to my hip flexors. I went from 13st 10lbs to 13st 3lbs in the space of 3 months and began fitting UK size 12 (US size 10). I felt really great about that.
It wasn't healthy though and last July I got to a breaking point and stopped being so restrictive food wise and so excessive exercise wise. Things were more balanced for a while and better although my weight went back up to 13st 7lbs. I thought I could still maintain weight loss but just do it slower and more healthily. Somewhere in the new year I went back to old habits and started eating a lot more take out and snacks. I was avoiding the scales and exercised once a week.
Last month I pulled out my summer cropped trousers/pants and couldn't button them up. I jumped on the scale and I'd gone up to 14st 2lbs which was my heaviest weight I'd ever been. I unofficially started being mindful of what I ate again. It didn't work and I gained 3lbs and put 4in onto my hips.
I downloaded MFP and started calories tracking. I've upped my exercise again mixing cardio (running/cycling 1-2 times per week), stretching (yoga/Pilates 1-2 times per week), and gym (HIIT/strength 1 time per week). I'm scared of three things: 1. getting over obsessed about everything again 2. Being stuck at a higher weight 3. Quitting my efforts again. Does anyone have any advice or encouragement they can offer? Like this sub emphasises I'm looking for sustainable and healthy progress this time. I'm back to 14st 2lbs but feeling super down and icky in general and genuinely need a bit of encouragement and a kick up the butt. I've stayed a lurker on this sub throughout it all. You guys all still inspire me even if I haven't been able to maintain CICO and weight loss over this last year. Any positive vibes would be extremely welcome. Many thanks and happy Saturday everyone!
