Hey, so I came across CICO here, googled it, it's good old calories in calories out. I came across a bunch of idiot nutritionists/dieticians and whatnot saying how it's super unhealthy blah blah, but most just seem to assume that I'm just going to be getting all my calories from Mars Bars or something.
TBH I feel like the weight loss industry is made up of fucking assholes, because they confused the hell out of me for half my life with bullshit things. I have no trust left in them. I'm a vegetarian, and a few years ago I was trying to meet the optimal macronutrients for weight loss- my god I had to drink protein shakes twice a day just to get my protein numbers up and keep carbs low. It made me become afraid of eating fruit. It was not sustainable.
I still don't have the answers. But I will try this calories in calories out method. Today I weighed myself and I am the highest I have been in 7 years, but not the highest I've been ever.
I'm female, 31, weigh 100kg exactly today. My current TDEE is 2865. For 1 month I will keep my TDEE at 1210 (to lose 1.5kg a week). After that I will increase it to 1500. I just gained 5kg within a couple of weeks and I want to lose that asap with the 1210 calorie diet first.
For example my meal plan for today is (this has been edited upon recommendations, see bottom of post):
Breakfast: 423.5 kcal
60g Organic Porridge (221 kcal) 20g Linwood Milled flax, nuts & Q10 (112 kcal) 1 tbsp Maple Syrup (38 kcal) 100g Strawberries (30 kcal) 50g Blueberries (22.5 kcal) (Use water instead of milk for porridge)
Snack: 53.6
9g Almonds (53.6 kcal)
Dinner: 734
280g Tofu (280 kcal) 1 portion Amoy udon noodles (190 kcal)
250g Frozen mixed vegetables (broccoli, peas, carrots, sweet corn, red peppers) (141.5 kcal) 100g Sharwoods Sweet Chilli & Red Pepper sauce (74 kcal) 1 tsp olive oil (40 kcal) 1 tbsp Sriracha Sauce (5kcal)
TOTAL calories: 1,207.6
I have made a few other meal plans that are around 1210 calories for the next month, or at least until I drop back down to 95kg. After that I will increase my calories to 1500 for steadier weight loss.
How does this meal plan for today look to you? Any advice?
EDIT: Everyone who has posted has suggested that I should increase my calorie intake from 1210. It's not much but I decided to increase it to approx 1400 until I drop back down to 95kg which is what I weighed a couple of weeks ago and then increase it to 1500 for steadier weight loss.
Instead of almonds for snacks, I will change it to a proper lunch and have instead Tideford Tomato & Basil Soup (210 kcal) with 2 Athenry Multiseed Sodabread Toasts (32 calories for 2). This brings the calorie to 1396.
