I’m currently 19 years old and have struggled with body image issues my entire life and an overweight BMI throughout high school. I began college at 5’3” and 166.6lbs, and am currently at 5’3” and 148.5lbs Since moving away for college I’ve been losing weight and trying to better my own eating habits. I’ve officially lost ~18lbs since the start of my first year and I’m incredibly excited about it. I’m only 5lbs above where I weighed my sophomore year. My sister, however, has gained weight due to medications. Though she says she doesn’t want to lose any weight. My mom has told me repeatedly to not mention my weight loss and to maybe hide it. Which is difficult because I’m at a size 6-8 in most clothing, when I used to be at around an 10-12. So most of my clothes are becoming too big, and when I’m shopping my sister notices. My mother has also struggled with her weight her entire life due to thyroid issues, and I almost feel guilty about my weight loss now.
I just need a little support because I can feel myself deflating and becoming a little discouraged towards my progress.
