About 6-months ago I became interested in losing weight, I found the 'fitness' subreddit and asked a few questions. I was very lucky someone replied pointing me towards lose it because my thread was deleted shortly after for being a commonly asked question. Once I found lose it - it became extremely clear what needed to be done. It removed a lot of confusion and unnecessary information.
My method is simple, exactly in line with CICO.
I eat whatever I want but lean for healthy options because its lower calorie and higher nutrition. I have not had a cheat meal once in 6-months of dieting or gone over my calories once either. I use a rotation of calorie counted meals and eat only 3 times a day with coffee allowed in between. The majority of my weight has been lost without workouts but I've added strength training and cardio recently for toning and muscle gain.
I'm not done yet! I have another 10-15lbs left because my stomach remains problematic but this shows anyone thinking of trying CICO how well it works.
