I'm not sure what details to put here but I just know I need help. I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for a few years now but have been able to keep it under wraps until recently. I've gotten to the point to where I can't do anything but lay on the floor in the dark all day. I live day by day just waiting to be able to go to sleep again and my energy is completely gone and I don't even enjoy watching movies or playing games to pass the time anymore. I don't know how to describe it but it's impossible to talk to anyone and if anyone even calls me it's so overwhelming I just can't answer. I've tried talking to my mom about it but she doesn't understand what I'm going through and can't really do anything to help me. I'm a sub-contractor and I make pretty much just enough to pay my rent and get groceries and that's it. I want to see a psychiatrist but I don't have any kind of health insurance and I don't meet the qualifications for the options on the U.S healthcare website. I've looked at private insurance but it's more than I can afford. I set an appointment at a community health center in my area that bases the cost on income but they don't have any mental health programs. I guess my question is, is there anyway I can see a psychiatrist and get anti-depressants for low cost? Is there a different treatment I should seek? I've been to consoling before but I feel like if I went now I wouldn't be able to talk. I feel like I've exhausted all my options and that I'm trapped.
Edit: TL;DR: I can’t afford health insurance but need to see a psychiatrist.
